Germany wan send 30,000 Nigerians come back dem country

De gofament of Germany dey plan new arrangement wey go allow dem repatriate some 30,000 Nigerian irregular waka abroad people.

De proposal get aim to arrange de system wey dey now, which Germany dey think say dey too slow.

Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, meet with de Chief Security Adviser to de German President, Dr. Jan Hecker in Abuja, Nigeria to discuss de proposal.

Onyeama talk say Germany no dey pleased with de numba of irregular waka abroad people and people wy dey find asylum from Nigeria and no get confidence in de repatriation system wey dey on ground.

For now, Nigerians wey dey find asylum in Germany go go through process for court, dem go assess dem and if dem reject dem, dem fit appeal de decision.

If dem done try all de ways wey dey available to dem, de German government go ask de Nigerian government to issue emergency travel certificate make dem repatriate dem, because dem no dey usually get passports.

“De Germans dey talk say de time the Nigerian embassy and de consulate dey take in dis process dey too long and a lot of de work wey de Nigerian embassy and de consulate dey do na repeat of wat de Germans don do already,” Onyeama tell Deutsche Welle.

According to Onyeama, de new process go comot delay to decide weda or not a waka abroad person dey for repatriation aft aim don finish to use available legal ways, afta which de German government go tae responsibility for de repatriation of such waka abroad person without putting de Nigerian government inside de matter.

Onyeama talk more say dat de way dem dey propose now na complete way wey dey different from de one dem dey use now. He talk say na Germany go issue travel documents to de repatriated migrants and go be responsible for deir return to Nigeria.

“De point I make na to say it go need make we change our laws of travel documents for Nigerians and our laws to remove any role for awa embassies and consulates in de repatriation of Nigerians. For dis moment, awa mission and embassies dey involve in de process. Dey issue travel documents when final decision done dey for repatriation, he noted.

Onyeama state dat in de last two years, na only about 200 Nigerian irregular waka abroad people don return to de country out of about 30,000 wey dey listed for Germany from Germany.
