De programme dey jointly sponsored by de European Union and de International Organization for Migration (IOM) Initiative on Migrants’ Protection and na de Federal Government of Nigeria, under de National Commission for Refugees dey coordinate and monitor am.
De main purpose of de training, according to Osemene, na to refocus de mindset of de returnees, so dem go fit enter inside society again and go be able to fully benefit from de process. Dis eventually go give dose who complete the training successfully de means to build or re-build dey way dem go dey make money or do business.
According to Osemene, dose wey don successfully complete de training programme go be checked to see which kain career option dem get and dem go group dem before dem go settle dem. De lead trainer talk say,
“We still get difficulties to make sure dat na almost everi one wey we train na im get access to de support. “Dey are put inside de various groups of business dat dem don identify to get involved in, like welding, hairdressing, furniture making, fish farming, and buying and selling and odas.”
Osemene come explain dat about three to five people go dey in one group and wen dem don provide documents like utility bill, national identity cards, shops or empty land, plus including de invoice from de suppliers of de materials dey wan use for de business, den IOM go release money to de supplier, who go supply de materials to dem.
Returnees dey monitored by de funding agencies through de Federal Government of Nigeria’s National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons to make sure say wateva venture d returnee choose to do go last.
