Three more migrants tested positive for coronavirus in Greek island camp

Three more migrants at the Vial migrant camp on the island of Chios tested positive for Covid-19, Greek media reported on 17 August.
The infected migrants were in contact with a 35-year-old Yemeni migrant who tested positive previously. The whole reception center has been put under full lockdown until August 25.
The camp currently hosts over three times its capacity. Humanitarian organisations have raised serious concerns for migrants living in overcrowded camps in the light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, describing them as “an ideal breeding ground” for the virus.
