Over 90 irregular migrants rescued in Libya

Over 90 migrants were intercepted at the Libyan coast and brought back to Libya by the Libya Coastguards, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) reported.

Since 2011, Libya has become an exit point through which thousands of irregular migrants try to reach Europe by crossing the Mediterranean Sea. IOM equally reports that over 2000 irregular migrants have been intercepted at the Libya coast in 2021.
