IOM returns 16,800 Nigerian migrants within 3 years
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) returned over 16,800 irregular migrants from Europe to Nigeria between 2017 and 2020, according to Cyprne Cheptepkeny, a project officer at the agency.
Cheptepkeny disclosed this last week in Benin, the Edo State capital, during a town hall meeting with stakeholders aimed at promoting safe migration measures.
She stated that 40 percent of the returned migrants are in Edo State, followed by Delta State at 13 percent and Ogun State with six percent.
