Twelve arrested for involvement in drug trafficking and irregular migration in Morocco
Last week, Moroccan police arrested 12 persons in Agadir over their alleged involvement in international drug trafficking, organisation of irregular migration, and human trafficking.
According to Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), five of the 12 suspects were charged with drug trafficking and the organisation of irregular migration, while seven others were suspected of undocumented migration.
Morocco is determined to frustrate irregular migration attempts, which claim hundreds of lives of potential migrants annually. Last year, Morocco foiled over 74,000 migration attempts.
