Nigeria partners with Niger and Benin against irregular migration

In a bid to tackle smuggling and irregular migration in Nigeria, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) said it has launched a joint patrol team with Benin and Niger Republics.

The tripartite operation, code-named Joint Border Patrol Team (JBPT), is intended to combat smuggling in all forms and irregular migration along the three borders.

Nigeria’s border with Niger and Benin Republics have been major gateways for smugglers and migrants entering different African and European countries irregularly.
