Italy stops migrant rescue ship from leaving its harbour
German rescue ship Sea-Watch 3 has been banned by Italian authorities from leaving the harbour to continue its migrant rescue missions on the Mediterranean sea.
On 8 July, the Italian Coast Guard said the ship had “several irregularities of technical and operational nature” which could compromise the safety of the crew and migrants. More than 200 migrants recently rescued by the ship were transferred and quarantined on the Moby Zaza ferry.
