Pope Francis canvasses support for migrants
Pope Francis has urged the world to pray and support migrants, refugees and internally displaced persons who are “forced to flee”.
He made this remark during his Sunday Angelus address on 27 September while marking the 2020 World Day of Migrants and Refugees.
The Pope, who has made migration a major focus of his papacy, said migrants and internally displaced persons “live with fear, uncertainty and unease,” hence the need to continually support them.
More than 45.7 million people are internally displaced, according to the UNHCR.
