Seven European countries topped the world’s least accepting countries for migrants
Seven European countries were among the ten countries considered least accepting of migrants in 2019, a Gallup poll revealed on 23 September. The countries are North Macedonia, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Latvia.
The poll asked people about their opinions on migrants living in their country, becoming their neighbours and marrying into their families. The results indicated a general global decline in acceptance of migrants.
Canada, Iceland and New Zealand, on the other hand, were among the most welcoming countries.
