Nigerian migrant doused in gasoline and set on fire in Libya

A Nigerian migrant working in a factory in Tripoli, Libya has been burned alive by three men, according to a statement by the Libyan interior ministry.

Tripoli’s interior ministry said the suspects, who are Libyan nationals, had been detained for the attack.

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) condemned the attack describing it as “bestial and unacceptable” and called on the Libyan authorities to prosecute the suspected killers.

The United Nations described the attack as “another senseless crime against migrants in the country.”

Libya has been a destination and transit country for thousands of migrants from West and North Africa.
